Crowds applaud as a deeply moved couple from the GDR hugs each other after crossing the sector border between East and West Berlin on November 10th 1989. On November 9th the SED dictatorship was forced to open the border after ever growing pressure from the streets. 28 years after its construction the wall seperating East and West Germans had ceased to exist
