Franz Karl Maier

The lawyer Franz Karl Maier speaks in Radio Stuttgart on 24 February 1947. Maier, one of the licensees of the Stuttgarter Zeitung (translated as Stuttgart Newspaper') and public prosecutor of the Spruchkammer (translated as trial court') Stuttgart until his dismissal some days ago, had framed a complaint because of the agreement of the minister-president R. Maier and the minister of education and cultural affairs Simpendorfer during the vote on Hitler's Enabling Act from 23 March 1933 and was relieved of his duties as a result of that. At the end of the 1950s, Maier switched over to the Tagesspiegel in Berlin and was the sole editor. He was member of the supervisory board of the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), spokesman of the Deutscher Presserat from 1963-1966 and member of the committee of the Bund Deutscher Zeitungsverleger (BDZV)'. Franz Karl Maier was born in Stuttgart on 04 October 1910 and died in Berlin on 13 April 1984. +++(c) dpa - Report+++
