French soldiers take position at train station Gesundbrunnen
French soldiers have taken position with a MG on the area of train station Gesundbrunnen on the 31st of October in 1961. The East German Railways had erected a water tower with the writing GDR at train station Gesundbrunnen in Berlin-Wedding on the area belonging to West Berlin. Furthermore, soldiers from East Berlin had digged themselves in. After several protests of French town majors, the water tower was removed by the authorities of East Berlin and the confrontation came to an end
