German sea island Heligoland fee again
Subsequent to the celebration, a walkthroug takes place at 01.03.1952. Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein Friedrich Wilhelm Lubke (black coat and scarf) stands in the middle. At 18.04.1945 a british bombardment destroyed the town Heligoland completely. After Second World War the population has been expelled. Detonation of the submarine base at 18.04.1947 took parts of the steep coast with it. Therefor 6, 700 kg dynamite has been fired. But the Red Rock substained. After that, the British Airforce used Heligoland for their training of bombardments. On March 1st, 1952 at 00.00 o'clock the return of the German Sea island to germany was celebrated. After the Second World War Great Britain occupied Heligoland for almost 7 years and destroyed it almost completely with its bomardments
