German Unity - Berlin
The Germans are reunited. Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher (FDP, L-R), Mrs Hannelore Kohl, Chancellor Helmut Kohl (CDU), German President Richard von Weizsaecker and the last GDR Prime Minister Lothar de Maiziere wave from the stairs of the Reichstag building in Berlin on 03 October 1990. With the accession of the GDR to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Germans are finally reunited in a sovereign state 45 years after the end of World War II
