Heligoland set free again
For the ceremonies on the island Heligoland on 1 March 1952, the minister president of Schleswig-Holstein Friedrich Wilhelm Lubke (at the front, black coat and captain's cap) is present apart from many former expellees and political representatives. This day, Heligoland was given back from the British government to Germany after having become a forbidden, dead zone and bomb training area after a bombardment during the Second World War and an enormous explosion
