Helmuth von Moltke
Prussian General Helmuth von Moltke (contemporary picture) was chief of the general staff of the army from 1906 on and was displaced by Erich von Falkenhayn after the Battle of the Marne in 1914. Helmuth von Moltke, nephew of the Prussian general field marshal of the same name (1800-1891), was born on the 25th of May in 1848 in Gersdorf near Bad Doberan and died on the 18th of June in 1916 in Berlin
