Cuban president Fidel Castro gives a speech at a public meeting in Cienfuegos in front of head of the GDR Erich Honecker and other members of government on the 23rd of February in 1974. The convergence of Cuba and Moscow resulted in a closer contact to the GDR as well, which became Cuba's second most important economic partner in the 1980s.
