Historical Cuba - State visit Erich Honecker 1974 - Guard of
The Cuban guard of honour forms a line in honour of head of GDR Erich Honecker at the airport of Santiago de Cuba. Soldiers with sashs in the Cuban national colours salut on the 20th of February in 1974. The convergence of Cuba and Moscow resulted in a closer contact to the GDR as well, which became Cuba's second most important economic partner in the 1980s.
