Several hundred GDR citizens protested for freedom of travel in Leipzig, former GDR, September 4th 1989. Among the most often used slogans were: We want to get out of here! ('Wir wollen raus'), Freedom of Travel instead of mass escapes ('Reisefreiheit statt Massenflucht').
