Around 40 NATO generals as well as numerous officers and officials watch the manoeuvre Free Play of the US army on the military training area Grafenwohr from the so-called Feldherrenhugel on 5 February 1959. The highlight of the manoeuvre, in which about 60.000 soldiers participated, was the simulation of a nuclear attack, which was simulated with shots of two Honest John missiles and 28cm shells
