Olympic Games 1972: end of hostage-taking
The end of the failed rescue operation and a detective during preservation of evidence on 7 September 1972 at the military airport in Furstenfeldbruck. The front window of the operated helicopter of the Federal Border Police shows numbered bullet holes. All nine Israeli hostages, five Arabian terrorists, and a Munich police officer lost their lives during the operation. Arabian terrorists of the group Black September had attacked the Israeli accommodation in the Olympic village, killed two Israelis and took nine hostages in the morning of 5th September. Their ultimatum: release of 200 imprisoned Palestinians and free passage with the other hostages. Two helicopters had brought the terrorists and hostages to Furstenfeldbruck in the evening
