Olympic Games 1972: entrance of the Israeli team
The Israeli team enters the Munich Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics on 26 August 1972. Nine days later, the athletes are the aim of a terrorist attack of Arabian terrorists of the group Black September'. The terrorists attack the Israeli accommodation in the Olympic village, kill two Israelis and take nine hostages. The rescue operation in the night of 6th September at the military airport Furstenfeldbruck fails. The nine hostages, a Munich police officer, and five terrorists lost their lives.
