Olympic Games 1972: press review of the terrorist attack
A press review from 6 September 1972 of the terrorist attack during the Summer Olympics in Munich: Arabian terrorists of the group Black September had attacked the Israeli accommodation in the Olympic village, killed two Israelis and took nine hostages in the morning of 5th September. Their ultimatum: release of 200 imprisoned Palestinians and free passage with the other hostages. In the evening, the terrorists fly with their hostages in two helicopters to the military airport Furstenfeldbruck. Hours later, the rescue operation fails. All nine hostages, five terrorists, and a Munich police officer lose their lives during the operation, three terrorists get injured and defeated
