Albert Forster, NSDAP member since 1923, was Gauleiter of Gdansk since 1930, since 1939 also Gauleiter of Gdansk-West Prussia and Reich Governor of Gdansk. 1940 he became Reichsverteidigungskommissar and 1943 SS-Obergruppenfuhrer. He was born on 26 July 1902 in Furth and was executed on 28 April 1948 in Poland
