Two American soldiers talk to each other during the large winter manoeuvre Free Play of the US army on the military training area Grafenwohr on the 5th of February in 1959. Climax of the manoeuvre, in which about 60, 000 soldiers participated, was the simulation of a nuclear attack, which was observed by 40 NATO generals from the Feldherrenhugel
