Last Soviet guard force leaves House of Broadcasting in Berl

The last Soviet guard force leaves the House of Broadcasting in Berlin on the 5th of July in 1956, watched by the media, citizens of West Berlin and the police. Although it was located in the British sector of Berlin, the House of Broadcasting was used by the Broadcast of Berlin and controlled by the Soviets after World War II until 1952. After a temporary blocking by the British Army, the building was given to the Senate of Berlin only in July 1956, who handed it over to the broadcaster Freies Berlin ('Free Berlin') after extensive renovation works
