Members of staff of the broadcast of Berlin gather on the 3rd of June in 1952 in front of the House of Broadcasting in Berlin, which is sealed off by the British Army. They were not allowed to enter the building, but leaving was not forbidden. Although it was located in the British sector of Berlin, the House of Broadcasting was used by the Broadcast of Berlin and controlled by the Soviets after World War II until 1952. After a temporary blocking by the British Army, the building was given to the Senate of Berlin only in July 1956, who handed it over to the broadcaster Freies Berlin ('Free Berlin') after extensive renovation works
