US troop transport to Berlin leads through Soviet zone
A US combat group from Mannheim taking a break near Northeim in the Lower Saxony on their way to Berlin on 19th August 1961. The American soldiers, coming from the FGR, had to drive through the Soviet zone to reinforce the US troops already stationed in Berlin. The journey proceeded without any problems
