Walther Rathenau

Industrialist, author and politician Walther Rathenau on an undated photography. Walther Rathenau was chairman of the supervisory board of AEG and was economic expert of the government at the conferences of Versailles, Spa and London. He became foreign minister on the 1st of February in 1922 (Treaty of Rapallo) and was one of the most-read writer of his time with socio-political and cultural works like Zur Kritik der Zeit'and Die neue Gesellschaft'. He was born on the 29th of September in 1867 in Berlin and was murdered there by former officers of the Organisation Consul on the 24th of June in 1922 in Berlin
