WWII - Seaplane around 1939

A seaplane of the type Arado AR 196 is pictured flying over the Baltic Sea around 1939. The Arado Ar 196 was a standard aircraft of the German Navy in World War II. The low-wing aircraft was equipped with two floats. It was produced in series from July 1939 until March 1944 at Arado Warnemunde (ArW). The aircraft was launched by catapults from Navy vessels to fly reconnaissance missions and submarine hunts. Photo: Sammlung Sauer
