Pedro Alvarado was the Spanish conquistador
Pedro Alvarado was the Spanish conquistador of Central America, where Indians in Jalisco, the Chichimecs, revolted against the Spanish invaders and their Aztec and Tlaxcalan allies in the Mixtun War (1541-42). On July 4, 1541, Alvarado was killed by Chichimecs with a tree trunk or boulder rolled down from a hilltop that pinned him under his horse.
