Stanley Baldwin (1867 - 1947), British statesman and Conservative politician who dominated the government of the United Kingdom between the world wars. During World War One, Britain borrowed money to finance the heavy costs from America, Baldwin the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1923 agreed with United States to pay back the British debt over many years
