Antonine Wall - newly exposed at New Kilpatrick Cemetery
Visit by members of the Glasgow Archaeological Society to the on-going excavations of the Antonine Wall at Castlecary fort, September 1902, under the guidance of George Macdonald. Castlecary fort was one of 16 known forts along the Antonine Wall, which was built across Scotland's central belt from AD 140. The wall formed the north-western frontier of the Roman Empire
