Arrival of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in England, 1913
Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife the Duchess of Hohenberg, arrive in England for a visit to King George V and Queen Mary at Windsor in November 1913. They are seen here walking to their saloon after landing at Dover. The assassination of the Archduke and his wife in Sarajevo in June the following year was the trigger to cause tensions between the European powers to erupt leading to the First World War
