Assassination in Sarajevo
The Royal car setting out for a tour of Sarajevo on 28th June 28th 1914. During a visit to the city, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie were assassinated by Serbian nationalists led by Gavrilo Princips. Austria used the incident as a pretext for attacking Serbia thus precipitating World War I
