Dame Mary Barbara Hamilton Cartland (1901-2000), married name Mrs Barbara McCorquodale, prolific British novelist, though the Tatler describes her here as, "the pretty daughter of Mrs Cartland, who has a charming house in Eaton Terrace, and is one of London's most popular hostesses."
