British thoroughbred racehorse, Bayardo, owned by Alfred W Cox (under the pseudonym of Mr Fairie) and ridden here by American jockey Danny Maher. Bayardo had great success as a racehorse winning the Eclipse Stakes, the St Leger Stakes (both in 1909) and the Ascot Gold Cup in 1910, amongst other major races. He was also a Champion Sire
