Bearers of the Queen's canopy at the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Top left, wife of the Earl Marshal (who organised the coronation), the Duchess of Norfolk; top right, the Duchess of Buccleuch (wife of the Lord Steward), bottom right, the Duchess of Roxburghe, wife of the 9th Duke, and bottom left, the Duchess of Rutland, wife of the 9th Duke. They had the honour of holding the cloth-of-gold canopy over the Queen as she knelt before the Altar for her Anointing, for givig of the Queen's ring, and for her Coronation by the Archbishop of Canterbury
