Bicycle trip from London to John O'Groats 1873
Eight English cycles started but only four finished the trip from London to John O'Groats, northermost point of Scotland. The first day they rode sixty-one miles, the second sixty-three, completing the whole trip in a fortnight. The diameter of the driving wheels ran from forty-five to fifty-two inches
