Boscobel House - escape of Charles II
Boscobel House at the time of the Battle of Worcester in 1652. Having been defeated by Cromwell's army, the future Charles II evaded capture by hiding and disguising himself. Boscobel was one of the houses which provided him with refuge. Legend has it that he hid in an oak tree in the house's grounds
