Boy trying on boots delivered by relief worker

Miner's son trying on boots delivered to the door by a relief worker. A volunteer had distributed clothes and boots for children to miners homes to prevent long queues at distributing centres. Due to the closure of pits, miners and their families were left without any employment or means of subsistence. They relied on charity which was barely enough to keep body and soul together
