Boy at Tulse Hill School, 1968

A black school boy at Tulse Hill School in Lambeth, south London, in what looks to be a metalwork class. Tulse Hill, which closed in 1990, was notable for being the first school in the UK to offer an examinable course in CSE Black History. The initiative was triggered and funded by Muhammad Ali who had visited the school and inspired the Head of History Nigel File, who also introduched a Black History Month
