Brian Desmond Hurst (1895 - 1986), Irish film director often considered Northern Ireland's best film director. Pictured here at the age of forty-six in the studio of his home in Kinnerton Street, Knightsbridge, London, sorting out figures for an old toy theatre which he proposed to give to Vivien Leigh. His films from this period include, Dangerous Moonlight, Alibi, Hungry Hill and Theirs is the Glory. He is perhaps best known for the 1951 A Christmas Carol adaptation, Scrooge, starring Alastair Sim
