Interior of the Stafford House Society's hospital at Rustchuk. The Relief of the Sick and Wounded Turkish Soldiers was established on the 12th Decemeber 1876, by the Duke of Sutherland. The aim was to alleviate the suffering that existed amongst the Turkish soldiers, who had insufficient food and equipment supplies
