The British and Irish Magnetic Telegraph Company's Offices in Threadneedle Street, London, built in 1859. The Company was formed out of a merger between The Magnetic Telegraph Company and The British Telegraph Company in 1857, and laid two cables; one from Portpatrick to Donaghadee and the second from Portpatrick to Whitehead
