British protest to the Ferrer trial
Mr Victor Grayson speaking at the demonstration meeting at Trafalgar Square. Francisco Ferrer was accused of having taken a leading part in the Barcelona rebellion. He was sentenced to death and shot after much controversy, at the fortress of Montjuich. Many countries showed their disapproval by holding public demonstrations. Ferrer's daughters addressed a personal appeal to King Alfonso on his behalf
