Bystander magazine competition, When Will the War End?
The Bystander magazine's War Forecast Competition with a prize of £50 asking readers to mark the anticipated positions of the Allied Armies in the cessation of hostilities. The closing date for the competition was 30 September 1915 and if the competition was won by a soldier or sailor who was subsequently killed in action, the prize money would go to next of kin!
