: Caernarvon Castle by Dennis Flanders

Caernarvon Castle by Dennis Flanders

A view of Caernarvon Castle along the quay of the River Seiont before it empties into the Menai Strait. The Eagle Tower, where the Union flag and the Red Dragon fly side by side, is visible beyond the Queen's Tower, Chamberlin Tower, and the Black Tower. The case was the site of the investiture of the Duke of Windsor as Prince of Wales in 1911 and again, when King Charles III was invested by the Queen in 1969. Tradition has it that Edward I presented his son to the Welsh as the first English Prince of Wales at Caernarvon in 1284
