A portrait of Captain H. Vernon Olver, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, a prisoner of war at Oflag IVc, Colditz. It is one of several portraits sketched by Lieut. J. F. Watton providing an interesting insight into the lives of British prisoners of war in a German camp. Watton himself was captured near the Somme in June 1940
