Captain John Dymoke, Queen's Champion
Captain John Dymoke, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Dymoke of Heydour Priory, Grantham, with his fiancee, Miss Susan Fane, daughter of the late Lieutenant Francis Fane, R.N. and Mrs. Francis Fane, of Fulbeck Manor, Grantham. The pair married on the 4th September 1953. John Dymoke was the hereditary Queen's Champion and carried the Union Standard at Westminster Abbey at the head of the grand procession at the 1953 Coronation. The title, which had been in the family since the fourteenth century, is inherited by each Lord of the Manor of Scrivelsby in Lincolnshire
