Captain Leslie Cheape
Captain Leslie St. Clair Cheape (1882-1916), British soldier and polo player dubbed, England's greatest polo player'. He played for England in the Westchester Cup three times in 1911, 1913 and 1914. He was killed on 23 April 1916 while commanding a squadron of the Worcestershire Yeomanry on the Western Front. Pictured in the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News at a time when he had returned from the Dardanelles with severe face wounds
