Cast of a basking shark(Selache Maxima)
Described in The Illustrated London News as a cast of the skeleton of a basking shark(Selache Maxima) caught off Bergen in 1901, this image was reproduced to highlight perceived similarities between a much decomposed Canadian sea "monster", thought to be a Cadborosaurus, discovered on the shores of Henry Island, British Columbia in 1934
