On The Velvet Strand at Portmarnock, Charles Rolls in his 100 h.p. Mors and Algernon Lee Guinness in his Gordon-Bennett Darrace. The course was a mile long, with Rolls winning the first heat finished with two cylinders firing, beating Lee Guinness with a time of 57.4
