Children of King Alfonso XIII and Queen Ena of Spain
Photographic postcard showing the three eldest children of King Alfonso XIII (1886-1941) and Queen Ena of Spain (1887-1969). From left is Alfonsito, Prince of the Asturias (1907-1938), in the middle the Infanta Beatriz (1909-) and on the right, Infante Jaime (1908-1975). The couple's eldest child suffered from haemophilia, and Infante Jaime was rendered deaf by a childhood illness. One other son was also haemophiliac and eventually it was their grandson, King Juan Carlos, (the offspring of their healthy son, Juan) who came to the throne in 1975 after the death of General Francisco Franco
