Chinese artists
Chinese artists at work in a studio in Hong Kong. From left, one artist is painting a miniature from a daguerrotype. The middle man is enlarging a picture to produce a portrait in oils, while the third is painting a view of Hong Kong for some merchant captain'. The ILN comments how, "their forte is copying minatures from photographs; this they do to perfection, having been taught by Europeans."
