Cholera in Hamburg
Linen being left with customs officers for disinfection. Many precautions were taken in preventing the spread of cholera. Travel played a large part in the spread of disease. In the nineteenth century, cholera spread from North-east India towards the east coast of Africa. It only took a couple of years for the disease to reach Europe
