Colonel Festing aged 41
Colonel Francis Worgan Festing (1833-1886) of the Royal Marine Artillery, aged 41. He distinguished himself in the heroic rescue of the body of Lieut. Eardley-Wilmot from the Ashantees at Dunquah, receiving the Order of the Bath and the Order of St. Micheal and St. George for his endeavours later in 1874
