The coronation of Tsar Nicholas II

Emperor Nicholas II crowns the Empress, Alexandra Feodorovna: When the Emperor had duly received his crown and the sceptre and orb of empire, he summoned the Empress to him. her majesty approached and knelt on a cushion before the throne. The Emperor took of his crown and, after touching her head with it, resumed it himself. He then placed upon her head a smaller crown, which was adjusted by four Ladies-in-Waiting. The Empress was thereupon invested with the Collar of St. Andrew and the imperial robe, and the Emperor embraced her and raised her to her throne upon the dais
