Dance Floor Wembley Stadium Club (greyhound racing)
The dance floor of the new Wembley Stadium club, the latest resort of the elite who are interested in the newest sport in England, greyhound racing'. The construction was carried out by Sir Owen Williams, the architecture by Maxwell Ayrton and the design by George Sheringham. The fashionable and luxurious interiors, featuring stylised greyhound decoration on chairs and planters, are an indication of the popularity of greyhound racing among smart society when introduced in the UK in the mid-1920s. The photograph shows the method of division used by the architects throughout the club, by means of light and attractive trellis work of unusual design
